Small Business Consulting Services (SBCS) is a business operated by Lakehead University Honours Bachelor of Commerce students. The organization has been in existence since 1972 and has been able to successfully utilize student education to serve the needs of the region. The business operates out of the Braun Building on the Lakehead University campus and through its non-profit status, is able to provide assistance at affordable fees.

NOHFC For the third consecutive year, Small Business Consulting Service in partnership with the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund will host the Enterprise Planning Workshops.
Attendance will be free to all participants, but will be limited to the first 50 people. More information will be posted soon.

Currently, there are three full-time employees working within the
office with other part-time employees available to work on specialized projects that require their skills. The Dean of the Business Department personally verifies the consistency of all projects undertaken and faculty members are available for certain project expertise. The educational background of each employee encompasses all major business areas: Marketing, Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, Operations and Information Technology.
